The building of 90 new Council houses on a vacant site in Worksop is just a matter of months away as the next stage of the project has been unveiled.
The final elements of planning permission for the housing development off Radford Street, Manton were granted in January of this year and Derbyshire based contractor G F Tomlinson will be leading the development, which is expected to begin in early summer.

Bassetlaw District Council has announced a partnership with energy and regeneration specialist Equans to bring more of its empty homes back into use.
The Council currently owns and manages more than 6,600 homes in Bassetlaw and this new partnership with Equans will see repairs and upgrades made to around 400 homes per year.
Equans will carry out work to properties after former tenants have left their homes and before new tenants move in. This will include general repairs including carpentry work, electrical repairs, re-painting, re-flooring, re-tiling and upgrading fixtures and fittings. They may also carry out general repairs to outside areas such as repairing or replacing fences and paving.

If you want to vote at a Polling Station you must have an accepted form of photographic ID. If you don't have photo ID you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate - GOV.UK.

A Bassetlaw Council Tenant has been ordered to give up possession of his property following months of drug-related activity and failing to pay over £2,000 in rent.
The tenant was evicted from 38 Creswell Road, Worksop, following a hearing at Mansfield County Court on 19 January 2023 where Bassetlaw District Council were granted a Possession Order for the property.

Sexual Health Services Consultation
Nottinghamshire County Council is reviewing sexual health services across the county and is planning what these services will look like from April 2024 onwards. The council commissions sexual health services which provide free and confidential services across the county.
The county council is asking people to take part in the consultation so that it can get their views on the plans it is are proposing.

Larwood House Refurbishment
Former residents of Larwood House Independent Living Centre got a sneak preview of the refurbished building prior to its opening in just a few weeks’ time.
Over the last 12 months, Larwood House in Worksop, which is owned and operated by Bassetlaw District Council, has undergone an extensive refurbishment project to convert 32 bedsits into 18 self-contained one-bed apartments with updated communal areas.

Westmoreland House Renovation
Westmoreland House in Harworth and Bircotes is getting a major renovation as Bassetlaw District Council continues to invest in its homes for older residents.
The project forms part of the Council’s drive to modernise its Independent Living Centre accommodation for over 60s as part of a five-year partnership with specialist design and build company Fortem.
Once complete, Westmoreland House will feature 32 one-bedroomed flats, all fitted with wet rooms, a newly constructed central atrium and upgraded communal areas, plus a number of energy efficiency measures.
