Bassetlaw District Council would like to speak with rural businesses about the Rural England Shared Prosperity Fund. The Government has introduced the fund as a top-up to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The funding will succeed the EU funded LEADER and Growth Programme. We would like the opportunity to discuss current, emerging needs and opportunities to assist rural businesses in Bassetlaw.

Energy Bill Relief Scheme
There is a range of ongoing schemes in place to support businesses with their energy costs.
This information was updated on 10 October 2022 where the eligibility criteria was expanded to include all fixed contracts signed from 1 December 2021. It also introduced a floor price for the scheme to avoid unintended consequences related to market developments.

North Nottinghamshire is set to become a global hub for a wide range of engineering, technological and scientific expertise, following the announcement that the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Agency has chosen West Burton as the future home of its STEP project.

Mercians to march through Worksop
On Wednesday 26 October 2022, The Mercian Regiment (formally known as the Worcester & Sherwood Foresters Regiment, The Cheshire Regiment and The Staffordshire Regiment) will be Exercising the Right to the Freedom of Worksop & Retford and marching through Worksop Town Centre.
The Parade will be forming on the Old Market Square at 11.30am and we anticipate the march will last approximately one hour. Rolling road closures will be in place and may affect deliveries to your businesses and we apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
