The State Funeral and Committal Service for Her Majesty The Queen
The State Funeral of Her Majesty The Queen will take place at Westminster Abbey on Monday, 19th September at 11am. A Committal Service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, will take place later the same day at 4pm. Presently, The Queen Lies-in-State in Westminster Hall at the Palace of Westminster, having arrived in Procession from Buckingham Palace on Wednesday 14th September.
Towards the end of the Funeral Service, at approximately 11:55am, the Last Post will sound followed by Two Minute’s Silence to be observed in the Abbey, and throughout the United Kingdom. The National Anthem will bring the State Funeral Service to a close at approximately 12 noon.
Savoy Cinema Worksop will be screening the funeral of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, live from 10:30am on Monday 19th September. Seats will be free of charge (booking recommended) and they are offering complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits to all guests.

Commemorative Service and National Moment of Reflection
A Commemorative Service for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be held at the Priory of Our Lady and St Cuthbert in Worksop on Sunday 18th September from 6pm.
Led by Canon Nicholas Spicer, the service will commemorate Her Late Majesty on the eve of her State Funeral in London on Monday 19th.
The readings will be given by Nottinghamshire Deputy Lieutenant Peter Emerson and Chair of Bassetlaw District Council, Councillor Madelaine Richardson.
As well as invited guests, Members of the Public are welcome to attend the service.
A National Moment of Reflection and one minute silence will also take place on Sunday 18th September at 8pm to mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Communities are invited to mark this at a local place of significance should they wish to.

Changes to Council Services
Following the announcement of the bank holiday on Monday 19th September for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral, there are changes to some of our services.
The Council Offices, Bassetlaw Museum and Pilgrims Gallery will be closed on Monday.
There will be no refuse collections on Monday 19th September.
Whilst our crews would normally work a bank holiday, we will join individuals, businesses and other organisations in paying their respects to Her Majesty and commemorate Her reign, while marking the final day of the period of national mourning.
Collections will take place a day later than normal from Tuesday 20th September finishing on Saturday 24th September.
Leisure Centres at Harworth & Bircotes, Retford and Worksop as well as Kilton Forest Golf Club will close for the day.
Nottinghamshire County Council's recycling centres will be closed on Monday 19th September. They will reopen on Tuesday 20th September.
The Overview & Scrutiny Committee Meeting scheduled for Tuesday 20th September has been rescheduled for Thursday 29th September.

Books of condolence are available to sign at Council offices in Worksop and Retford, as well as Harworth Town Hall, the Misterton Centre and The Beeches Community Centre in Tuxford. Alternatively you can sign the online book of condolence at royal.uk. The High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, Paul Southby visited Bassetlaw on Thursday to add his condolences.
Books at Council offices will remain open until 5pm on Tuesday 20th September. The loose leaf pages from across the District will then be bound into a single book of condolence, sharing messages from people across Bassetlaw.

Due to the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the confirmation of the State Funeral taking place on Monday 19th September, our Tenant Conference and Meet the Team event will now be postponed to Wednesday 12th October.
The new details for the Tenant Conference and Meet the Team event are as follows:

Venue: Retford Town Hall Date: Wednesday 12th October, 2022 Times: Welcome from 9:45am Meet the Team starts at 10am Tenant Conference starts at 11am Buffet from 12noon
This event will give tenants access to the services we provide and give you an opportunity to speak with the people who provide them, in addition to presenting our Annual Report to Tenants as part of the Tenant Conference, and answering any questions you may have.
