Green Flag
Two of Bassetlaw’s parks will continue to proudly fly Green Flags after being officially recognised as two of the best open spaces in the country.
Bassetlaw District Council have received the coveted Green Flag Awards for Retford’s Kings’ Park and Worksop’s Memorial Gardens and The Canch.
The award is the international quality mark for parks and green spaces and Kings’ Park celebrates reaching this high standard for the 15th time, while the Memorial Gardens and The Canch has won the award for the ninth year running.
More Information
TaleGate Theatre Productions show "The Queen's Knickers" was a huge success last week and gathered quite the crowd at Kings' Park in Retford.
We can’t wait to welcome them back for Goldilocks and the 3 Bears on Saturday 13th August, 2pm and Jack and the Beanstalk on Monday 22nd August, 2pm.
We're ready for the sunshine, singing and slapstick performances on stage. Hope to see you there. These performances are FREE to attend.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see some of the World's top cycling teams as they race through our county, including areas of Bassetlaw, when the Tour of Britain returns this year.
The fifth stage of the competition will take place in Nottinghamshire on Thursday 8th September 2022. The 190-kilometer course, which starts in West Bridgford, will pass through the east of Bassetlaw before heading for Retford and Worksop, taking a detour through Clumber Park and ending in Mansfield.
As well as supporting the event along the route, you can also take part in the prize-winning Tour of Britain land art competition. The competition is a fantastic way for our communities to demonstrate their support, and we hope that Bassetlaw's community groups, businesses, and landowners will participate and showcase their creative talents. Enter the competition.
