Community Testing for Retford and Villages
A new community testing centre for people without Coronavirus symptoms will open in Retford next week. Based at Retford Town Hall, the site offers free, fast lateral flow tests. Around one in three people who are infected with Covid-19 have no symptoms so could be spreading the disease without knowing it. Broadening testing to identify those showing no symptoms will mean finding positive cases more quickly, and break chains of transmission.
Community Testing for Retford and Villages
Community Testing for people without symptoms in Worksop moves to a single location
Following the initial pilot, services previously offered at Crown Place Community Centre on Sandy Lane, Worksop will now be provided at Manton Club on Retford Road. The Sandy Lane site will close at 1pm on Sunday 7th March and Worksop residents and workers who wish to take up or continue using community testing are being encouraged to use the test centre at Manton, Retford Road from Tuesday 9th March.
It is hoped that Crown Place Community Centre will become a collection point for home testing in the future, with further details on this to be announced in due course.
Community Testing in Worksop
As children return to school, families and care bubbles can make use of the community testing centres locally with expert help and advice on how to administer the lateral flow test safely and effectively. Anybody under the age of sixteen attending a testing centre will need to be accompanied by an adult and children under the age of 12 will need an adult to help with carrying out the swab test.

Have you got your census letter?
Households across Bassetlaw are being asked to take part in Census 2021.
Census day is on March 21, but households will now be receiving letters with online codes explaining how they can complete their forms. If you don’t get one in the next couple of weeks, please get in touch with the census contact centre. You can also request a paper questionnaire if you’d prefer to complete your census that way.
Local census support centres will be open while the census is happening. Staff will offer help for people not confident online, who don’t have a computer or need help completing on paper.
The census is a once-in-a-decade survey that gives us the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales. It has been carried out every decade since 1801, with the exception of 1941.
For more information, and to find out how to get help, visit census.gov.uk or call the contact centre on 0800 141 2021.
