The Government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme claim portal went live on Monday (20 April), which means employers can now go online to claim cash grants worth up to 80% of wages, capped at £2,500 a month per worker.
Employers can apply for direct cash grants through HMRC’s new online portal - with the money expected to land in their bank accounts within six working days.

 Basildon Council staff have processed more than a thousand grant applications to help keep businesses going through the coronavirus pandemic, totalling just over £16m.
So far, 948 business received £10,000 each and a further 261 businesses received £25,000.
We would encourage the 25% of eligible businesses who have received a letter from us but not yet completed the online form, to complete it as soon as they can.
