Home to School Transport Update - Thursday 22 May 2025
We’re delighted to say that we have agreements in principle to cover ALL of the home to school transport routes for entitled pupils from Tuesday 27 May.
For eligible service users the good news is that nothing will change on their daily commute – except for the transport operator.
The new services will travel along the same routes, using the same designated bus stops as now.
But please be clear - only pupils provided with a home to school transport travel pass issued by Angus Council will be permitted to board these services.
Further details and confirmation of all transport will be issued directly to families via Group Call once they are finalised.
U22 free travel entitlement through the National Entitlement Card and payment on boarding will not be accepted. This is due to a reduction in bus capacity, and mainly impacts pupils who attend schools out with their catchment through a placing request.
If you have not received direct confirmation before Tuesday May 27 that there is transport in place for your child/children, please do not attend the bus stops or attempt to use the school buses.
We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to those transport operators who have come to our assistance at what is very short notice. They are JP Coaches; Short’s Travel Ltd; Wisharts Coaches, Moffat and Williamson Ltd; and Smith & Sons Coaches. Thanks too to others who have been supportive and assisted our efforts to secure this important service for our children and young people.
As ever, please see our dedicated school transport webpages for the latest updates.
We thank you for your continued patience and we will continue to keep families informed directly via Group Call.
