World Book Day was a fantastic celebration across our schools, with children of all ages (and staff) getting involved in fun and creative activities to share their love of reading!
From library openings to football fun and book recommendations, Angus schools went all out to celebrate the magic of reading. Here’s a look at just a few of the great things that happened across Angus:

Strathmartine Primary School marked the day in a big way by officially opening their newly redeveloped library!
With a fresh new look and two adorable guinea pig residents, Pumpkin and Oreo, the space is designed to open doors to the wonderful world of books.

Montrose Academy’s Library invited their young people to share their favourite books with their classmates.
Diana (S1) picked The City of Dragons series, while Peter (S2) found it tough to choose but eventually settled on Percy Jackson!

Letham Primary School’s P5s explored the joy of picture books—proving that you're never too old to enjoy them! They also took time to reflect on what reading means to them.
Woodlands Primary School got creative, sending in some incredible potato book characters!
P2 and P3 celebrated by reading their books outdoors in the sunshine then having a scavenger hunt to find, identify and draw 16 book characters.
P4s had a special storytelling session, reading to nursery children and sharing the joy of books with younger pupils.
