The school spring holidays are just around the corner, it's the perfect time for our young ones to recharge, explore and have fun!
In this newsletter you can find out about opportunities available through the holidays from our holiday food and fun initiative, ANGUSalive, Visit Angus and details about an interactive show happening in Forfar and Kirriemuir.
There’s also a reminder for families who qualify for free school means (based on financial criteria) about the spring holiday free school meal payment.

Shaper/Caper’s Ernie’s Emporium – shows in Kirriemuir and Forfar
Join award-winning Shaper/Caper for a fun, interactive show for children aged 3 to 12 and their families, with opportunities to chat and play.
While having fun watching the show, we’ll gather views and thoughts from young people and parents for our Planet Youth Programme in Angus.
Planet Youth is a programme looking at improving young people’s health, wellbeing and relationships. We’re running a pilot in Forfar and Kirriemuir. This is why we are inviting children and families to this free event to gather your views in a fun and exciting way.

Spring holiday free school meal payment
Families who qualify for free school meals based on financial criteria will receive £24 to cover the Spring holiday period (£2.40 x 10 days). This will be in bank accounts around Thursday 28 March 2024. You’ll receive a payment if you have a child currently in:
- P1-P5 who is in receipt of school clothing grant.
- P6-S6 who is in receipt of free school meals during term time.
If you are not already in receipt of school clothing grant or free school meals you can check your eligibility and apply on our website.
