Autumn free school meal payment
Families who qualify for free school meals based on financial criteria will receive a single ‘Direct Payment’ of £28.60 to cover the autumn holiday period (10 days) and the three days of industrial action during the last week of term. This payment will be in bank accounts on, or around, Friday 29 September 2023.
You will receive a payment if you have a child currently in:
- P1-P5 in receipt of school clothing grant
- P6-S6 in receipt of free school meals during term time.
If you are not already in receipt of school clothing grant or free school meals you can check your eligibility and apply on our website.

During the October school holidays we’re offering, with local partner organisations fun, free/affordable activities for children, young people and families.
It includes:
- free adult and child family fun swimming lessons, free disability and inclusion activities and Teen Zone classes with ANGUSalive
- ASN taxi offer

Brechin Golf Club’s free footgolf and lunch deal is back.

Come along and enjoy free activities plus lunch including animal handling, yoga, arts and crafts, storytelling, music, games and much more.

Calling all mini architects and LEGO fans! ANGUSalive with Historic Scotland are hosting an event at Arbroath Library to build a model of Arbroath Abbey with LEGO bricks.
Anyone 10 years old and above can join LEGO specialist Alistair Jelks on 2, 5, 6 and 7 October to learn about architecture, construction and scale of model builds.
