 Scottish Education Awards finalists: Lochside Primary School and Arbroath High School
Congratulations to young people and staff at Lochside Primary School and Early Learning and Childcare Centre (ELC) and Arbroath High School after reaching the finals for a top education award – The Scottish Education Awards!
Lochside Primary School and ELC are shortlisted for the Parental and Family Engagement category for their family learning and engagement work and the impact it is making to families within the school community.
Arbroath High School are shortlisted for Making a Difference category (Secondary) recognising the support a group of S6 young people have given to Afghan and Ukrainian learners both in the classroom and around the school.
We'll be cheering them on at the Scottish Education Awards ceremony in Glasgow on 7 June 2023.

Kinship care is when a child whose parents can’t look after them (short or long term) are cared for by other relatives, like grandparents, uncles, siblings or by other adults who have a connection to the child.

Traffic calming plans for Brechin Road in Arbroath
We want to hear your views on further traffic calming plans for Brechin Road in Arbroath. The plans aim to build on other traffic measures that were installed near to Warddykes Primary School last year - but first we want you to Have Your Say.

Peer Support Workers from Penumbra and Hill Crest Futures are available in every GP Practice across Angus. They provide access to mental health support, advice, self-help and self-management strategies and support in your local community from a worker who has their own lived experience of mental health challenges. You can ask your GP to refer you or you can self-refer:
Social Prescribers from Voluntary Action Angus are also available in every GP practice to help with practical support if you are difficulties with things like your money or housing, improving your mental and physical health, meeting new people and increasing self-confidence and self-esteem. You can ask your GP or call VAA on 01307 466113.
Suicide Help is a Tayside-wide website and app that can give you all the support and help you need if you or someone you know has been affected by or has thoughts of, suicide.
Whether you are the one struggling or you care for someone who is struggling, know that you are not alone and help is there.
