 Monifieth Learning Campus Update
At our Policy and Resource Committee in May, we confirmed our commitment to the new Monifieth Learning Campus. Costs have risen, due to extreme volatility of construction costs, but funding has been revised and does not lead to an increase in borrowing by the council.
Angus Council Leader, Cllr Beth Whiteside said, “I would like to pay tribute to officers for their hard work and diligence at successfully keep costs down as much as they have. This new school is really essential, as the current buildings are really not fit for purpose now, and definitely not for the future, so we remain committed to the project, recognising that this will impact on spending elsewhere.”
International Workers’ Memorial Day
Thank you to the young people at Forfar Academy for their help when we launched a new memorial at Forfar Community Campus to honour all those in Angus who have been killed or injured at work.
The young people are designing and making a bench to sit beside the tree that was planted. We can't wait to see it!
