The position in Angus regarding teachers’ strike this week remains unchanged. All Angus Council primary and secondary schools will be closed to children and young people on Tuesday 28 February and Wednesday 1 March 2023. Kingspark School in Dundee will also be closed to those who usually attend.
All Angus Council Early Learning and Childcare provision will be open for children to attend. This includes nurseries attached to primary schools, as well as the standalone ELCCs in Carnoustie and Forfar.
College will be open as usual on these days for young people who ordinarily attend. Secondary schools will contact young people directly with any relevant updates.

School Child Bridging Payment
If you’ve been receiving the Scottish Child Bridging Payment from us, please remember that the December payment made on 23 December 2022 was the last one we will pay. Social Security Scotland will now make these payments through their Scottish Child Payment.
The bridging payments were for children/young people eligible for free school meals because of low income.
Join the Angus White Ribbon campaign
The White Ribbon campaign is a male-led campaign against gender based violence. It recognises that most men do not commit violence against women, but all men have a role to play in ending it.
We are looking to get as many Angus ‘speakers’ trained up and we're delighted to have White Ribbon Scotland join us in March to offer speaker training to those interested in the Angus Campaign.
The training will take place via zoom over two half days, Monday 6 March 1pm – 4pm and Friday 10 March 10am – 1pm and is open to everyone to take part.
Interested? Book your space by emailing ProtectingPeopleAngus@angus.gov.uk
You can find out more about the White Ribbon campaign in this video on our YouTube channel.
