"Bullying is both behaviour and impact; the impact is on a person’s capacity to feel in control of themselves. This is what we term as their sense of ‘agency’. Bullying takes place in the context of relationships; it is behaviour that can make people feel hurt, threatened, frightened and left out. This behaviour happens face-to-face and online."

Raising awareness
During Anti-Bullying Week (14-18), many of our schools took part in various activities to raise awareness that bullying is never acceptable.
This included delivering assembles to raise awareness in support of anti-bullying week.
Below are some of the responses from the S1pupils at Forfar Academy when they were asked "What do you think bullying is?"
Some schools, teachers and young people showed their support to anti-bullying week by wearing their best odd socks for Odd Socks Day – celebrating what makes someone unique!

Be You Animation
Respectme Scotland, Scotland’s Anti-Bullying Service launched a special animation (on Facebook) during the week called Be You which was created by Eva (14) from their Youth Action Group.
Speaking about the animation Eva said:
“That you don’t always have to look or act the same way as others around you. You are your own person. I sketched, drew and coloured each frame individually on Procreate, and it took just over 25 hours from sketching out my first draft to the final animation."
