Scottish Child Payment

The Scottish Child Payment will be made to eligible families and in bank accounts on, or around Friday 30 September. The payment of £130 is for each eligible child or young person in P1-S6, attending an Angus Council school. You will receive a payment if you have a child in:

P1-P5 who is eligible and in receipt of school clothing grant
P6-S6 who was in receipt of free school meals between 23 and 27 September 2022.

If you register for free school meals between 28 September 2022 and 30 September 2022, you will receive your payment at the end of October. Registrations after this date are not eligible for the payment.

Pre-school aged children are not eligible for this payment. The Scottish Child Payment may be available for children under the age of 6. To find out more and apply please visit MyGov.Scot.

If you are not already in receipt of school clothing grant or free school meals you can check if you can apply on our website.

Free school meal payments

Families who qualify for free school meals based on financial criteria will receive a single payment of £22 to cover the holiday period. This will be in bank accounts on, or around, Friday 30 September 2022. You will receive a payment if you have a child currently in:

P1-P5 who is in receipt of school clothing grant
P6-S6 who is in receipt of free school meals during term time.

Arrangements are in place for free school meals payments of £22 to be made to families who become eligible for free school meals or school clothing grant during the holidays.

Flu vaccine

All primary and secondary school pupils will be offered the flu vaccine at school. Look out for consent forms sent home from school.

Angus Youth Awards 2022

Do you know an amazing young person who goes that extra mile? Nominations are open for the Angus Youth Awards, which recognise young people’s achievements and celebrates those who have made a difference in Angus.

Categories:

Volunteer - given up their own time to help others
Young person’s voice - spoken up on behalf of other young people, or a group, to bring about positive change
Sports - shown commitment and dedication to sport
The arts - shown commitment and dedication to the arts
Enterprise - created their own business or social enterprise - profit or not for profit
Environment/heritage - worked towards protecting or improving their local area
Equality and diversity role model - challenged stereotypes and worked with others towards changing perceptions of young people
Group achievement - achieved more than they could have imagined.

Nominations can come from young people themselves, parents, professionals, carers and local residents. Closing date for nominations is Friday 30 September at 12noon.
