Covid guidance when children return to school
We’ve received updated Covid guidance from the Scottish Government on reducing the risks in schools. Although case rates are still high it’s believed the epidemic is increasingly moving into a calmer phase and will continue to reduce as we head into spring and summer. This means when children return to schools after the Easter holidays:
- schools will no longer send letters to let parents and carers know if there are cases of Covid in your child’s class
- secondary school children will no longer have to take a lateral flow test twice a week if they have no symptoms, anyone with symptoms should arrange a PCR test until 30 April
- staff and young people in secondary schools and staff in primary schools should continue to wear face coverings indoors in communal areas and when moving around the school building.
Please continue to let your child’s school know if they are off due to having Covid.
New lunch menu for primary school children!
The new menu includes some great options including meatballs in tomato sauce with pasta, roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes, chicken goujons, macaroni cheese and pizza - who doesn’t love pizza!
If your child is in P1 to P5 they can get free school meals, regardless of the family income. For P6 and P7 it’s £2.10 a day or why not check if your child is entitled to free school meals?
Everyone gets school meals in the same way, whether it’s free or you're paying.
Free bus travel until Monday 18 April!
There's still time to take advantage of free bus travel for everyone in Angus over the Easter weekend as it's running until Monday 18 April!
Travel is available all day, including Angus to Dundee and Dundee to Angus. Under 12s travelling for free must be with an adult.
We're running this pilot scheme in partnership with Stagecoach and other local transport providers and with Scottish Government funding.
