Walking your child or children to and from school or nursery is an ideal opportunity to give your dog some exercise but to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, families, staff and the community please make sure dogs are not brought into school grounds, except for service dogs.
Some children (and adults) feel intimidated or unsure of dogs, so please stay a reasonable distance outside of the school gate to allow children and adults to enter/exit.
Please make sure any adults bringing and/or collecting your child on your behalf are aware.

Is your child in fourth/fifth/sixth year?
Angus secondary schools are planning support arrangements for senior phase young people during the SQA exam period between the 26 April until the 31 May.
Throughout the year dealing with Covid related absence has presented different challenges in each of our schools. This means that the offer from each school will be planned around the needs of learners but will include the following:
- targeted support for individuals and particular groups of young people who need more exam preparation and help with revision or course completion
- continuing support from pupil care and support staff, including health and wellbeing sessions, for example coping with anxiety
- supported study in individual subjects and/or study skills
- exam practice and advice
- access to space and support for individual study – for every learner, every day
- appropriate activities for young people who are completing National 3 or National 4 courses and have few or no exams.
Your child's school will share its updated senior phase timetable with you prior to the Spring holidays and will make clear when your child is expected to attend. If you have any queries about these arrangements, please contact the school.
If your child is sitting SQA examinations, you may decide that you would prefer they prepare at home. Please contact the school to inform them of this decision.
Have you filled out the Parental Involvement and Engagement (PIE) Census 2022 yet?
We’ve launched our PIE census to gather the views of Angus’ parents and carers on many aspects of school life. Parents and carers are by far the most important influence on their child’s life. When parents are involved in their child's learning, children do better at school and throughout their lives.
If your child goes to an Angus school, you may have received an email with information and a link to the PIE census. Completing the PIE census gives you a chance to share your thoughts on your child’s school to support improvements locally and nationally. The census closes on 28 March. It should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
Find further information about the survey and view Angus Council and Scottish Government Privacy Statements.
