Welcome to the Family Nurture Support Team's Newsletter!

You may have noticed that our newsletter is coming to you in a brand new format this month! We are very excited to introduce this new E-Newsletter and hope it will make subscribing, reading and engaging with the Happy Me Happy Baby content even easier! I SPY...

Keep your eyes peeled for our social media posts on the Angus Council Facebook Page.

Just spending five minutes a day...

....on one of these activities will help to build a strong and secure attachment between you and your child. You are laying the foundation for your child's physical, cognitive, social and emotional development.

Play Safe

Remember to make sure all objects are clean and safe for your child to play with. Stay with your child to make sure they are happy. Explore the activity together.

Garden Themed Play

An invitation to play...

This play set up has lots of exciting garden themed activities ready to be explored by little hands.

It includes books like 'The Hungry Caterpillar', 'What the Ladybird Heard on Holiday', and 'Super Worm'.

There are soft toys, shape sorters, and a 'feed the woodpecker' game. You can keep it really simple too by including building blocks and pieces of clothing that match your theme.

This setup also has some counting cards. Why not try making your own by drawing on cardboard or small pieces of paper?

Use magic to transform your garden

Create a fairy garden by making tiny furniture, doorways and decorations to put outside. You can cut objects out of cardboard cereal boxes or even pop some glitter into a clean pasta sauce jar. This garden includes brightly painted toadstools to make it even more magical!

Garden Bingo

If you have a toddler, try a bit of garden bingo! Make a bingo card with the names of things you might see in your garden. Take it outside and see how many you can find. Help your toddler mark off the bingo squares as you go.

Does your little one love to use technology? Try taking photos of each item you find. You could print the photos later and stick them into a scrapbook.

Five to Thrive Online!

Do you love these ideas? Would you like to learn more? Well now you can! Our Five to Thrive online groups are aimed at parents of children aged 0-3 years old and they are free to attend. All you need is a device that can access the internet and the free-to-download Microsoft Teams app.

We can't pour from an empty bucket. Remember to care for yourself so that you can be the best version of you! That is the only way you will have the energy and patience to be the best parent you can be.

Saturday

Spring is a time for new beginnings. It is important to consider what you want for yourself this year, as well as for your children.

Take some time to write, draw or bullet point all of the things you would like for yourself this year. Maybe you want to reduce your stress, make friends, start a project or learn more?

Once you have your ideas written down, pick just one area and think of something you could do each week this month to make that dream a reality.

Will you carve out five minutes for meditation? Attend a new online group? Or contact the local college to get information on courses? Break it down into small achievable steps and make yourself a priority!

Sunday

"A Sunday well spent, brings a week of content."

How can you spend your Sunday so that you feel ready to take on the week ahead? If you are stuck for ideas, then start simple.

DANCE PARTY!

Grab your kids and your favourite tunes and clear some space. It's time to boogie! Moving our bodies in a way we enjoy is a real mood booster.

Top up your Self-Care Box

Bring a little Spring to your self-care by choosing a brightly coloured notebook or Spring themed puzzle book to add to your box.
