and your children are looking forward to an exciting term ahead.
Are you just back from a family holiday?
Anyone who has travelled overseas from a country currently on the quarantine list must self-isolate for 14 days – even if you don’t have any symptoms. This includes children – so please don’t send your child to school until they’ve also completed 14 days self-isolation.
If you don’t have any coronavirus symptoms after the 14 days, you can stop self-isolating. Further information is available from NHS Inform.
Has your child got cold-like symptoms?
It’s that time of year — the weather gets cold, the heating gets turned up and the sniffling starts! If your child does not have symptoms of COVID-19 (new continuous cough, fever, or loss of or change in the sense taste) but has other cold-like symptoms such as a runny nose, they do not need to be tested and they and you do not need to self-isolate. Your child can go to school if fit to do so.

Physical distancing - we need your help
Please remind older children (over age of 12) that they must remember to stay two metres apart from anyone and wear a face covering when visiting local shops during their lunch break.
By doing this they are protecting themselves and protecting the shop workers and other customers.
Dropping off or picking up your child up from school? Please remember the two metre physical distancing rule.
We know it can be difficult at the school gates due to the space available so please make sure you move on to allow space for others once you’ve dropped your child off or while waiting to pick up your child.
If we can all stick to staying two metres apart (doesn’t include under 12s) it makes for a safer, healthier experience for us all.

Is your child sitting National 5s, Highers or Advanced Higher courses in 2020-2021?
The Deputy First Minster announced a number of measures (7 October) for the awarding of National Courses at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher in 2020-21.
National 5s
If your child is sitting National 5s, there will be no external assessment this year – either by exam or by coursework. They will now be assessed by using an alternative certification approach. This will be based on teacher and lecturer judgement supported by assessment resources and quality assurance.
Higher and Advanced Higher courses
If your child is sitting Higher and Advanced Higher courses, these will remain as planned and will be externally assessed, including the completion of coursework (where appropriate). Exams have been moved to the end of the timetable and will start on Thursday 13 May 2021 and finish on Friday 4 June 2021.
You can find out more on the SQA's website.
