Last chance to take part in Cumbria Residents’ Week

Cumbria Residents Week (CRW) is Taking place between Monday 20th and Sunday 26th February 2023. CRW is an initiative to encourage residents to shop local and the scheme is delivered by all 6 councils in Cumbria.  

During Cumbria Residents Week (CRW) any customer that spends £10 or more in a participating business, will be in with a chance to win a prize donated by one of the participating businesses.

How to take part in Cumbria Residents Week

There is no charge to take part in CRW, but your businesses would need to donate a prize (e.g., free entry, an overnight stay, a free meal, or a gift voucher) for the prize draw and the scheme will be promoted by the project partners. The prizes will be issued to the winners by one of the organising local Councils.

If you would like to participate, you can register your business here. The entry deadline is 11:59pm 16th February 2023. Once you have registered your business, your business will show on the CRW website. Shortly after, we will send you additional information on how CRW will work.

Allerdale Borough Council would like to appoint a Supplier for the creation of a boardwalk across the top of the beach in Maryport harbour. Cumberland Council

Local government in Cumbria is changing

On 1 April 2023 local government in Cumbria will change.  

The current six borough, city and district councils, along with Cumbria County Council, will be replaced by two new ‘unitary’ councils.

From this date, all council services in the current Allerdale area will be provided by Cumberland Council.

The role is 2-4 days a month and includes joining the LDNPP at a pivotal point in the early phases of delivery of the Partnership Plan. We’re pleased to see Cumbria County Council submit a bid to the Government to expand capacity on the Lakes Line between Oxenholme and Windermere. CT continues to throw its support behind calls to develop this important branch line.
