Taste Cumbria Christmas is this weekend!
This weekend sees the return of Taste Cumbria Christmas in Cockermouth – food, drink, music and family fun, all wrapped up with lots of festive glitz and sparkle.
The event takes place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December 2022.
On Main Street there will be over 60 traders with stalls packed with things to eat and drink, plus homewares and gifts. There’s also an acoustic stage where local musicians will be playing everything from carols to Christmas classics.
There’s loads of family fun too. Santa Claus will be at the Kirkgate Arts centre from 10am to 3pm on the Saturday. Each visit costs £2 per child with money going to Cockermouth Rotary. On Main Street, Blossom Valley artisan craft shop is offering sessions to make everything from snow globes to tree decorations, while elsewhere there’s street theatre, a fairground and elf workshops.
There will be also be hot food stalls serving tasty dishes and The Bush pub will be serving mulled wine and hot cider to drink in or take away.
Add in the town’s wealth of independent businesses, amid some of the prettiest Christmas lights in the county, and visitors are guaranteed to find perfect festive shopping on every street. Those who want to sit down for a festive meal or just a snack could book in to one of the town’s pubs, cafes or restaurants.
This year’s Taste Cumbria Christmas is supported by Allerdale Borough Council, Cockermouth Chamber of Trade, Cockermouth Town Council and The Coffee Kitchen Bakery.
