Financial help for the farming industry announced

Farming GOV.UK

The Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) is a rural payment that provides financial help to the farming industry. Starting this year, the BPS payments are going to be made in two instalments each year for the remainder of the agricultural transition period to help farmers with their cashflow. This year’s BPS entitlement rates can be found on the governments website.

Farmers who claim BPS only, or those who claim BPS but have land in Countryside Stewardship or Environmental Stewardship are also entitled to one-off payments, such as the new Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) introduced under the Agricultural Transition Plan.

Disability awareness training

Calvert lakes activity

November 2022 – February 2023

Calvert Lakes (a not-for-profit charity based in the Lake District) have over 40 years' experience of leading the way in accessible outdoor adventure. The charity helps people of all ages with a range of disabilities overcome challenges and experience the benefit of the great outdoors.

As businesses move towards ever more inclusive and representative workplaces and environments, Calvert Lakes’ are delighted to introduce Disability Awareness Days (DAT) for businesses.

The aim is to help inclusive organisations build on how you embrace and cater for a diverse workforce - allowing people to shine and your business to thrive. In return, you’ll be supporting a key UK charity.

DAT days are run for a maximum of 12 people at a time - ensuring that your people get the most out of it. Just sending one person from your business? No problem - a group will be created, made up of a number of smaller organisations. Larger organisation sending multiple colleagues? Again - no problem. Dedicated days will be run for your staff, tailoring content to your organisation as appropriate.
