 COVID Officer (2 posts) - six months
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic two opportunities have arisen within the Council to support its Environmental Health Team as COVID Officers.
The roles involve contacting individuals who have become infected with COVID-19, investigating the source of the infection, outbreak control, relevant enforcement work and the provision of guidance to businesses. You will be dealing with the public and businesses over a sensitive issue so it is imperative that you are a good communicator and that you can adapt to different situations. Experience in enforcement work would be beneficial but not essential as you may be required to enforce current COVID-19 legislation.
The posts are initially up to six months but may be extended. You will work over a seven day rota hence some "out of hours" and weekend working will be necessary. Some of the work can be carried out from home, however, you will be expected to carry out visits throughout the borough when necessary and a driving licence and access to a car is required.
You will have excellent communication skills, be non-judgemental, possess IT skills and demonstrate experience of dealing with sensitive and/or controversial issues in a diplomatic way.
Salary: £29,577 - £32,910
