From the CEO's Desk:
Greetings,
Happy September to all of our workforce customers and partners in the Rural Capital Area.
It has been a truly memorable summer with all the changes we have been through due to the pandemic.
As we move into fall, we are making progress on reopening our workforce centers to the public, so that we can make sure we are able to provide services for our customers that cannot access our virtual services.
We are seeing the unemployment rates in our area continue to drop, and we are rapidly getting back to having more jobs available than we have qualified candidates.
Our virtual job fair platform is one way we are ensuring that employers have access to as many job seekers as possible, and that job seekers can see all their options for employment. The new technology we have acquired really helps us better communicate with our customers in many different ways, and will help us as we continue in this economic recovery to provide the talent supply chain our businesses need.
One critical element to our economic success is quality child care. During the pandemic, and now as we start to return to work and school, we really see just how important this is and we are working diligently with our child care providers to make sure they have the resources they need to keep the kids, and their staff safe by distributing health and safety supplies.
We continue our work on a strategic plan and we should see results from this work over the next several months. The pandemic has been a challenge for us in many ways, but it has also allowed us to take some very large leaps into the future, in regards to service delivery to our customers.
We look forward to helping shape the future of work as we hopefully begin the economic recovery.
