Protect Your Landscape from Invasive Pests
Learn how to identify and manage invasive plants, insects and animals during this free workshop on Saturday, August 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Woodlands Emergency Training Center. Led by Ashley Morgan-Olvera, Director of Research and Education at the Texas Invasive Species Institute at Sam Houston State University, this informative session will help participants recognize common invasive species found in our area and learn effective strategies for their removal and prevention. Landscape Rescue 101
Give your landscape a fresh start during Golden Hour Gardening on Friday, August 21, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Woodlands Townhall. Join landscape designer and award-winning garden author Cherie Foster Colburn as she shares practical solutions to common landscape challenges and answers questions from attendees. Doors open at 6 p.m. for light bites and mocktails, with the presentation beginning at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required and participants are encouraged to submit landscape questions and photos in advance. Get your fall garden off to a great start during this virtual class on Saturday, August 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. Dr. Juan Anciso, Texas A&M University Professor, Extension Specialist and Associate Department Head for Extension, will share research-based guidance on growing organic vegetables, preparing your garden for the fall season and producing a healthy, productive harvest. Vendor applications are now open for the 29th Annual Woodlands Landscaping Solutions on Saturday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to noon at The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park. This free community event brings together hundreds of residents with exhibitors offering products, services and educational resources related to gardening, landscaping, conservation and outdoor living. Attendees can also enjoy expert presentations, shop for native plants and vegetable starts and discover practical ideas for creating a beautiful, water-wise landscape.
