Ironman Traffic Impact Notice 

The Memorial Hermann IRONMAN® Texas triathlon event will take place on Saturday, April 26, bringing athletes from around the world to compete in a full-distance swim, bike and run event throughout The Woodlands and surrounding areas.

Residents and visitors should be aware that the multi-course event will impact traffic along the race routes. Major roads which will be impacted include:

• Woodlands Parkway
• Grogan’s Mill Road
• Lake Woodlands Drive at E. Panther Creek
• Waterway Ave is CLOSED from Lake Robbins to Timberloch
• Lake Robbins is CLOSED from Grogan’s Mill to Six Pines West Bound
• Hardy Toll Road CLOSED from IH-45 to IH-610 southbound main lanes beginning Friday, April 25 at 10 p.m. to Saturday, April 26 at 6 p.m.

A full listing of road closures, detours and access points is available on the event organizer’s traffic impact webpage. All community members are strongly encouraged to review this information to plan their travel accordingly and minimize disruptions.

Pool Passes On Sale Now

Summer is quickly approaching, and it is time to get ready for the upcoming pool season. Residents can skip the lines at the pool gate by purchasing or renewing their season passes for The Woodlands Township pools in advance.

Purchasing or renewing your pool pass is easy! Call or visit one of The Woodlands Township’s recreation centers or visit www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/signupforfun and click Fitness Room and Pool Pass Memberships.

Select pools will be opening for pre-season on May 10, 2025. Regular season will run from May 24 through August 12,  with post-season running through September 1, 2025. Please visit www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/pools for the full pool schedule, in-service dates, pool hours and detailed pool pass information.

Fired Up Tours

Get ready for an action-packed morning at the Fired Up Tours! Bring the whole family and experience the thrill of public safety in action. Climb aboard a real fire truck, explore a police vehicle, and see the lights and sirens up close. This interactive event offers a fun and educational look at the vital work of our local first responders. Tour Dates for 2025: May 3, 10, 17, 31 and June 7, 14, 21, 28.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Yes, a permit is required for all permanent installations of power generators. For those who want to install a permanent generator, there are a few important guidelines to follow.

• The unit should be placed in a spot that minimizes any impact on your neighbors. 
• The top of the unit must not be taller than six feet above the natural grade. 
• The unit needs to be screened from view so that it's not visible from the street or any neighboring properties. 
• You may be allowed to place a generator up to three feet into the rear and side yard easements. 
• Steps should be taken to reduce noise to acceptable levels.
