 The Woodlands Earns A+ Rating
The Woodlands has earned national recognition as one of the best communities in the country. According to Niche.com, The Woodlands is one of the most desirable cities to live with an overall Niche grade of A+ as it offers residents affordable suburban housing, beautiful scenery, award-winning amenities, employment opportunities, outstanding schools and so much more.
The Woodlands achieved impressive rankings in multiple national categories, securing the #2 spot for both the Best City to Live in America and the Best City to Raise a Family in America. It also ranked #3 as the Best City to Buy a House in America, #4 among Cities with the Best Public Schools in America, and #7 for the Best Cities to Retire in America.
 Woodlands Parkway & Grogan’s Mill Road
The Woodlands Township advises residents that pathways near and through the intersection of Woodlands Parkway and Grogan’s Mill Road will be closed for several months due to ongoing improvements.
To facilitate construction, pathway closures and detours will be in place from April 2025 to December 2025. The pathways crossing Woodlands Parkway at Grogan’s Mill Road will be temporarily closed, with clearly marked detour routes available for pedestrians and cyclists.
The Woodlands Road Utility District (RUD) #1 is undertaking a major project to enhance roadways and pathways at this intersection. These improvements aim to enhance accessibility, safety, and aesthetics while commemorating The Woodlands 50th Anniversary with a donor-funded sculpture.

Kayak Egg Hunts (Various April Dates) – Paddle your way to an egg-cellent adventure starting at Riva Row Boat House! Take your traditional egg hunt to the water with this unique opportunity to hunt for eggs by kayak! Eggs will be “hidden” along The Woodlands Waterway. Join us after the event for an egg-citing surprise.

Doggie Egg Hunt (April 13) – Get ready for a tail-wagging good time at the Doggie Egg Hunt! Bring your furry friend to the Rob Fleming Dog Park for a morning of fun, treats and adventure. Watch as they sniff out colorful, treat-filled eggs hidden around the dog park. Bring your dog's basket and join us for a paws-itively exciting day! Dogs of all sizes welcome.
 Trolley Route Changes
The Township Trolleys will begin a temporary rerouted schedule beginning Monday, April 7, and continue through April 14, 2025. This reroute will not affect the regular stops to ride the trolley from Hughes Landing, Waterway Square, The Woodlands Mall, Cinemark 17, Market Street and HEB.
The trolley will be rerouted off the Waterway from Hughes Landing to Waterway Square during the duration of the Waterway Arts Festival which extends the length of the Waterway. The trolley will continue providing service through Riva Row and Timberloch. Riders can park in the special event parking lots and ride the trolley directly to the front of Town Green Park which is the entrance of the Waterway Arts Festival. The trolley runs 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. Sunday, April 13, noon to 7 p.m.
