 Prepare Now For Hurricane Season
As summer begins, the Township urges residents to plan and prepare for an active hurricane season. The season runs from Saturday, June 1, 2024 to Saturday, November 30, 2024. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts an 85% likelihood of an above-normal season, with 17 to 25 named storms (winds of 39 mph or higher).
Make Your Emergency Plan
It is crucial to have an emergency plan for yourself and your loved ones. Consider how you'll stay in contact if the power goes out and where you'll meet if you get separated during an emergency. Creating and discussing this plan with you loved ones is vital. The ReadyWoodlands Guide has all the information you need to take this important step. Print and review the guide now to ensure your family's preparedness for a storm.
The Township's Project 365 initiative for 2024 is “Set It, Don’t Forget It. Get Alarmed.” Preventing crimes of opportunity is the most pressing safety concern in The Woodlands and we encourage residents to “Be Alarmed” in all facets - car, home and fire alarms.
It's summertime and the kids are home, which means more activity around the house. To ensure your home stays safe and secure, please remind the kids to always shut the garage doors and lock them whenever they're not in use. This simple action helps protect your belongings and maintains the security of your home. Let's make it a habit to keep everything locked up and safe during this busy season.
