This is an update on the Tax phase of the Texas Unemployment System (TxUS) project, which is on track to go live 2026.

The TxUS will replace the UI Tax Registration (UTR), UI Tax Services (UTS), QuickFile, GoAnywhere portal, and Magnetic Media. TxUS modernizes services and makes unemployment tax management easier for Texas employers and agents.

  • Simplified Navigation: TxUS will make the UI tax process more straightforward and efficient.
  • Streamlined Access: All UI tax processes will be centralized in one location through TxUS.
  • Expanded Functionality: TxUS will offer improved features and tools.

Plan for System Changes:

  • Wage Report Uploads: TWC’s QuickFile and Intuit's EasyACCT will no longer be supported. However, TxUS will support bulk report uploads.
  • File Size Limit: Bulk wage report uploads will be limited to 25 MB per file. Files larger than 25 MB must be divided before uploading.
  • Expanded wage data upload formats: ICESA (.txt file), Comma Separated File (.csv), EFW2 (.txt file), and XML (.xml file).
  • Social Security Numbers: The TxUS system will validate SSNs. SSNs (starting with 9) may be used if the actual SSN is unavailable at the time of report filing. The report will need to be amended once the true SSN is known. All SSNs must be 9 digits long, formatted as ###-##-####, and cannot contain all zeros or the same numbers as 111, 222 or 999 in the first three digits.
