Help Texas Prevent Unemployment Insurance Fraud

Texas employers: we need your help to protect your business and the identity of your fellow Texans by responding quickly to the following TWC notices:

  • unemployment insurance claim notices,
  • earnings verification, and
  • notices of potential chargeback

Criminals are always looking for new ways to victimize individuals and businesses for financial gain. Responding to TWC notices as soon as possible helps Texas fight fraud.

Often, employers are the first to discover fraudulent unemployment claims. If you suspect unemployment insurance fraud, please respond to the notice immediately

How can you help TWC flag possible Identity Fraud?

  • If you receive a claim notice and the employee is still working and their hours have not been reduced, please respond promptly to the notice.
  • Then, alert the employee that their identity may have been compromised and ask them to report it using the fraud portal at https://apps.twc.texas.gov/UiFraudSubmission.
