Free Pecan Seedlings at Waco Downtown Farmers Market
APRIL 25, 9am-1pm, 200 E. Bridge Street Waco Friends of the Climate, in honor of Earth Day, will give away free Pecan seedlings (carbon sinks), Saturday, April 25, 2026, 9am-1pm, at the Farmers Market, 200 E. Bridge Street, Waco. 500 Pecan seedlings will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis, along with planting and care instructions and a climate information card. The seedlings combat climate change by removing CO2 from the air, provide shade, produce cooling to lessen the urban heat island effect, and serve as habitat for other species. Styrofoam Recycling Collection Event
APRIL 11, 9am-1pm, Parking lot at corner of Valley Mills & Waco Drive Waco Friends of the Climate will hold free Drive-Thru Styrofoam Recycling, Sat., April 11, 9am-1pm, in the parking lot at the corner of Valley Mills & Waco Drives, in front of Ocean Buffet. Party for the Planet at Cameron Park Zoo
APRIL 18, 9am-2pm at Cameron Park Zoo, 1701 North 4th Street In the Zoo and Aquarium world we call our Earth Day event Party for the Planet. This year for Earth Day we would like to showcase our community and all that is done to support green practices and awareness. We will also have crafts and games for the whole family to enjoy! First attendees will receive a special gift from AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums). Free with admission!
