This isn't just about new buildings, it's about creating a more walkable, welcoming, and connected downtown that truly reflects the spirit of Waco. Looking ahead, we're getting closer to kicking off construction later this year of Barron's Branch Park, the first phase of the project.
Join us, stay connected, and let's make this vision a reality. Because we are building this together, For the Love of Waco.

The Cameron Park Zoo just got a little more fetch with the arrival of four camels and two ostriches. Straight from West Texas Wildlife Preserve, these new residents are already settling into their habitat together. Meet the Zoo's newest members:
- Veronica – (one-year-old camel)
- Gretchen – (two-year-old camel)
- Karen – (eight-year-old camel)
- Regina – (seven-year-old camel)
- Cady – (one-year-old female ostrich)
- Aaron – (one-year-old male ostrich)
If you’re thinking these names sound familiar, you’re not wrong. Most of our new arrivals are named after characters from "Mean Girls." (Veronica kept the name she came with.) You don't have to wait until October 3 to meet them.
