We are so thankful for every City employee that was out working in the winter weather these last few days! While most of us were staying warm indoors or finding ways to pass the time, our dedicated staff worked around the clock in freezing temperatures to keep the City safe and running. From public safety, utilities, streets, facilities, animal care, and behind-the-scenes support, thank you for always showing up for our community!
If you experienced any damages to your home from the recent winter weather, please complete the Texas Emergency Management survey. This survey will help state and local emergency management officials get a better understanding of local damages.
Reporting damages to Emergency Management is voluntary. It is not a substitute for reporting damage to your insurance agency and does not guarantee disaster relief assistance.

February is dedicated as Black History Month, honoring and celebrating the contributions, legacy, and culture of African Americans in our community.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of recognizing Black history. It began in 1926 as a week-long celebration established by historian Carter G. Woodson to highlight the contributions of African Americans. Later in 1976, President Gerald Ford officially recognized Black History Month calling upon the public "to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans."
The City of Waco will hold its next City Council general election on Saturday, May 2 for the mayor and the seats representing districts one and three. The application for a place on the ballot closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 13.
Candidate packets, applications, and eligibility requirements are available on our website or in person at City Hall (300 Austin Ave.)
