DECEMBER 9, 5:30-7pm at Urban REAP, 1509 N. 15th Street During this workshop you will visit Urban REAP, a program of Mission Waco that exists to create a more sustainable future by providing our community with positive actions that help care for our creation as well as our neighbors. Urban REAP’s main initiatives include Aquaponics-grown produce, a food waste collection program for Composting, a Garden Center that provides options to our community, and Education and Community Programming that provides resources and information. Waco MPO Citizens' Participation Work Group Meeting
DECEMBER 17, 10-11am, Location TBD Join the MPO (Metropolitan Planning Organization) for this workgroup meeting that considers demographic changes in McLennan County, its effect on participatory planning and environmental justice, and makes recommendations on how to enhance participation in the development of the MPO's future long range transportation plans, referred to as Metropolitan Transportation Plans (MTP).
Sustainable Resource Practices Advisory Board Meeting
DECEMBER 18, 4pm, City of Waco Operations Center, 1415 N 4th Street **New Time and Location** The general public is welcome to attend this monthly meeting of the citizen board that makes policy recommendations to the Waco City Council. Wild Lights at Cameron Park Zoo
NOVEMBER 28 - DECEMBER 30, Thursday-Sunday, 6pm-9pm, Cameron Park Zoo, 1701 N Fourth Street Experience the magic of the holidays at Cameron Park Zoo’s Wild Lights! From November 28 through December 30, the Zoo will sparkle with millions of dazzling Christmas lights, festive photo ops, and a chance to meet Santa himself. Wild Lights is open Thursday through Sunday evenings from 6:00–9:00 PM

JANUARY 17, 9am-1pm, Parking lot at corner of Valley Mills & Waco Dr Waco Friends of the Climate will hold free Drive-Thru Styrofoam Recycling, Sat., Jan. 17, 9am-1pm, in the parking lot at the corner of Valley Mills & Waco Drives, in front of Ocean Buffet.
