Guns & Hoses Charity Basketball Game

Join the Waco Police Department and Waco Fire Department for the Guns & Hoses Charity Basketball Game. Teams consist of Waco Police Officers and Waco Firefighter as well as local Special Olympic athletes. This is a free event, but you can donate to your favorite team, before and during the game, to help them raise money for a great cause! All proceeds collected will be donated to Special Olympics Texas supporting local athletes.

Come join us March 29th at University High School to watch both teams compete to see who can bring home the trophy and who can raise the most donations! Doors open at 4:00 p.m., tip-off begins at 5:00 pm!

Brazos Nights is Back!

Live music is back on the Brazos!

The City of Waco’s annual Brazos Nights concert series returns to downtown Waco on Friday, April 4 with Bowling for Soup – the Texas pop-punk legends behind iconic hits such as “1985” and “Girl All the Bad Guys Want.”

Enjoy an evening of great live music and local eats along the riverfront at Indian Spring Park, 101 N. University Parks Dr. The event opens at 6 p.m., so come early to grab a good spot. Admission is free!

Free Microchip & Vaccine Event

Join the City of Waco from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, April 6 at Northern Gateway Park, located at 704 Park Lake Drive for a FREE microchip and pet vaccination event! While supplies last.

All pets of City of Waco residents can receive:

• Free MicrochipsFree Rabies Vaccine (if animal is already spayed/neutered)
• Free DAPP (Distemper Adenovirus Parvo Parainfluenza) Vaccination
• If your animal is NOT spayed or neutered, vaccines and microchips will cost $10.
• For McLennan County residents outside of Waco city limits, rabies vaccinations will cost $10 regardless of spay/neuter status.

Make sure to bring your proof of residence!

• City of Waco utility bill
• Electricity bill
• Rental agreement

Time to File Your Franchise Tax Report

DEADLINE: Thursday, May 15, 2025

Neighborly reminder! If your neighborhood association is registered with the Secretary of State, make sure to complete the Texas Franchise Tax Report, by May 15, 2025.

The Comptroller’s office sends a letter or an email to all franchise taxpayers as a reminder that May 15 is the due date for franchise tax reports, extension requests, payments and/or Public or Ownership Information reports.
