The City of Waco has released a new guide on how to get permits and inspections to install residential standby generators. It outlines the necessary permits, the materials required for a plan review and inspections, and the key items plan reviewers and inspectors will check during the process.
Key considerations include strict adherence to city noise ordinances, comprehensive permit applications with detailed site plans, electrical and plumbing diagrams, and manufacturer's installation instructions. The installation process will require multiple inspections, including underground ditch, rough-in, and final inspections. Safety is paramount, with a strong emphasis on grounding, adequate working space, and secure service equipment barriers.
