Winter weather is coming, Waco! Here are some tips to help you take care of your house and pets:
- Cover all outdoor faucets.
- If you find a leak at home, turn off the water using the valve next to your meter. (Make sure you know where your water valve is!)
- Insulate indoor and outdoor pipes.
- Open cabinet doors, allowing heat to get to uninsulated pipes under sinks.
- Let water drip overnight, especially on outside walls.
- Bring your pets inside - exposure to extreme temperatures can lead to hypothermia, frostbite, and even death.
The City of Waco is investing in the community with the new Corridor Beautification Incentive Program! This matching grant helps owners and tenants of retail, commercial, and multi-family properties enhance the visual appeal of key corridors. Eligible property owners and tenants can apply now to receive up to $15,000 in matching funds to revitalize your property. Application closes Feb. 28.

Every year, Americans come together on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to serve in their neighborhoods and communities. The day is observed as a day on, not a day off. It is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
City Offices Closed
City of Waco offices will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 20. Residents with a Monday trash collection day will have their gray waste carts and blue recycling carts collected later on Wednesday, January 22.
