The Waco Fire Department has just taken delivery of new fire engines for Fire Stations 5 and 12. These new engines are equipped with increased compartment space, state-of-the-art emergency lights and warning systems, and enhanced safety systems.

 The community push-in ceremony for Fire Engine #12 will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23 at Fire Station 12, 3300 Flat Rock Road.

The community push-in ceremony for Fire Engine #5 will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 24 at Fire Station 5, 4515 Bagby Ave.

The Corwin, Estes, and Jaynes Education Center will feature classrooms, offices, event rental spaces, and technology that will enable worldwide remote learning experiences. The adjoined Carol Schmidhauser Veterinary Hospital will house surgical suites, pharmaceutical storage, and environmentally controlled holding spaces for animals under care or observation

 The City of Waco offers the Neighborhood Grant Program to Waco neighborhood associations to support them with beautification, identity, and community-based projects. The grant awards up to $7,500 for public projects, such as neighborhood events, neighborhood identity signs, park benches, and so much more!
The 2025 Neighborhood Grant application period is now open from September 13 through November 13.
