Stand United Against Crime with Waco Police on National Night Out
Join us for a National Night Out event in a neighborhood near you! This year, National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, October 1. Waco Police officers will be visiting registered events around the city from 6 to 8 p.m.
National Night Out is designed for neighbors to come together and present a unified force in the fight against crime in our community. Neighbors each year unite through block parties, social events, or neighborhood association meetings. Gatherings include games, decorations, food, drinks, or simply time spent visiting with your neighbors.
It's South Waco Library's 50th Birthday
Join us for the South Waco Library's 50th Birthday Party on October 5th! Starting at noon, we've planned a day of fun, including fascinating facts about the library and a variety of activities for all ages, such as making a birthday card at our DIY card-making station, enjoying a slice of birthday cake, and more!
Protect Your Legacy: Free Property Deed Workshop
The City of Waco is teaming up with Greater Waco Legal Services, Your Tangled Title, and Baylor University Law School to offer a free estate planning workshop. The workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 at Dewey Community Center, 925 N Ninth Street.
This workshop will provide the community members with the opportunity for free Transfer on Death Deeds (TODD) & Lady Bird Deeds. Legal professionals and law students will be on hand to provide guidance throughout the process.
Register for the Plug Into Community Conversations Conference
Waco-McLennan Public Health is proud to present its second annual conference — Plug into Community Conversations — on November 6. This conference aims to continue closing the gap between health theory and practice, equipping participants with actionable steps to have the hard conversations our community needs to improve our health status.
Registration closes on Friday, October 18. Continuing education credit for multiple disciplines will be provided for this activity.
Free Pet Microchip & Vaccine Event
Join us from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, October 13 at Brazos Park East for a free microchip and pet vaccination event! While supplies last. Make sure to bring proof of residence!
All pets of City of Waco residents can receive:
- Free Microchips
- Free Rabies Vaccine (if animal is already spayed/neutered)
- Free DAPP (Distemper Adenovirus Parvo Parainfluenza) Vaccination
If your animal is NOT spayed or neutered, vaccines and microchips will cost $10. For McLennan County residents outside of Waco city limits, rabies vaccinations will cost $10 regardless of spay/neuter status.
