 Each year, Americans celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th – October 15th. These dates encompass the independence days of several Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Mexico.
The month-long celebration recognizes and honors the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
 The City of Waco offers the Neighborhood Grant Program to Waco neighborhood associations to support them with beautification, identity, and community-based projects. The grant awards up to $7,500 for public projects, such as neighborhood events, neighborhood identity signs, park benches, and so much more!
The 2025 Neighborhood Grant application period is now open from September 13 through November 13.

Join the City of Waco on September 24, 6 pm to 7 pm at the South Waco Community Center and learn about the importance of owning your home and the dangers of not planning for the future of your estate. City of Waco staff will teach residents about tangled titles and how to avoid them through estate planning, wills, or transfer-on-death deeds.

 Fall 2024 Steppin’ Out will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Work sites begin at 8 am or 9 am, and students can serve for up to 4 hours.
