Animal services at the Animal Shelter (2032 Circle Road) will continue with the City of Waco! The Humane Society of Central Texas (HSCTX) and the City of Waco have decided jointly to end their animal services agreement. Both parties remain committed to saving the lives of animals in our community.
The City of Waco contracted with HSCTX since 2012 to provide adoption, foster, rescue, and volunteer coordination at the Waco Animal Shelter. These services will now continue with the City, and we are adding staff members to support our current hardworking staff. We also welcome the community to continue to support the Waco Animal Shelter.
Let's take a moment to celebrate the hardworking people who make Waco great.
Please remember that City of Waco offices are closed today for Labor Day. Residents with a Monday trash collection day will have their gray waste carts and blue recycling carts collected later on Wednesday, September 4.

Congratulations to Waco-McLennan Public Health for being selected as the Waco ISD community partner for the month of August. The Health District was instrumental in ensuring our local students were up to date on their immunizations, so that they could begin the school year on time.
The Health District's mission is to improve the health and well-being of the residents and environment of our county. They offer services in health inspections, epidemiology, health education and outreach, HIV/STI case management, immunizations, WIC, and so much more!
