Discovery Activity: DIY Seed Bombs
AUGUST 8-10, During open hours at Urban REAP This month’s Discovery Activity is DIY seed bombs! Wrap up seeds with compost and soil to spread plants in your garden! Come join us for a fun activity and take-home craft that keeps on giving. Our Discovery Activities are free and family-friendly DIY activities available the second week of every month. Supplies are available during our open hours, with staff available to answer questions as needed. Grab a beverage or paleta from one of our neighborhood shops and explore nature with us!
Sustainable Resource Practices Advisory Board Meeting

Waco Friends of the Climate Monthly Meeting
 AUGUST 27, 6pm, Waco Central Library, 1717 Austin Ave. The business session will be followed by the documentary "Eating Our Way to Extinction." The film details the huge contribution of a carnivorous diet to the climate crisis. It also explores the impact of this diet on water shortages and ocean dead zones. To illustrate how delicious a plant-based diet is, and to celebrate summer, an assortment of tasty vegan ice creams will be served. All are welcome and everything is free. Community Workshop: Planning Your Fall Garden

Visitors may observe the following technology and ask questions of the homeowner: rooftop photovoltaic system, Tesla Powerwall battery, Tesla Electric vehicles (2), electric heat pump water heaters, electric cooktop stove, electric home composter, rainfall collector, and a microplastic filter for the clothes washer.
