We are thrilled to announce the selection of Brendan Wiley as the Director of the Cameron Park Zoo, effective November 27, 2023!
A review committee led by members of the City of Waco, the Cameron Park Zoological Society, and a member of another AZA-accredited zoo completed an extensive search process that included a rigorous and thorough evaluation of well-qualified candidates.
"You only have to be in Waco for a minute to realize how valued the Cameron Park Zoo is by the community," said Wiley. "I felt that. I can't wait to get started. The future of the Cameron Park Zoo is bright and full of opportunity."

Is your backswing ready? Last Saturday, the City of Waco unveiled the first ever pickleball court in Waco’s park system. City officials and neighbors gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Jaycee Park.
The pickleball court was made possible through the City of Waco’s Neighborhood Grant awarded to Parkdale Viking Hills Neighborhood Association. In addition to the pickleball court, the Parks & Recreation crew re-striped the sports court, added new crushed granite, and installed new sitting boulders.
Now with the cooler weather, we hope to see you out at Jaycee Park or at your neighborhood park enjoying all the great amenities. To find your nearest park, visit waco-texas.com/parks.
