Parks Admin Closed for Thanksgiving Nov. 24 & 25

The Parks Admin offices will be closing at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 23 and will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will reopen with regular business hours on Monday, Nov. 28.

Dutch Oven Cooking Nov. 11

We are excited to introduce our new free Dutch Oven Cooking course as part of our Outdoor Adventure Program! Join us on Nov. 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Glass Recreation Center to get a taste of Dutch oven knowledge and taste some yummy dump cobbler.

Tyler Recycles Day Nov. 19

The annual Tyler Recycles Day is Nov. 19! Take advantage of this recycling opportunity for:

• Newspapers, magazines and phonebooks
• Junk mail, mixed office paper, paperback and hardback books
• No.1 and No. 2 plastic soda and water bottles, milk jugs and detergent bottles
• Cardboard, aluminum cans and tin cans
• Cell phones and chargers, small electronics, computers and printers
• Brown, green and clear glass bottles and jars
• Metal (copper, aluminum, brass and steel)
• Motor oil/hydraulic fluid and anti-freeze

Save the Date: Holiday Tea at Three Dec. 3

Holiday Tea at Three at the Goodman-LeGrand Museum on Dec. 3 from 3 to 5 p.m.! The historic home will be decorated for the season with festive savory and sweet delights created by local Chef Jack Lewis. Entertainment provided by George Faber.

Parks Board Update

On Monday, Oct. 24 our Parks Board took a field trip to go visit P.T. Cole Park prior to the upcoming renovation and Noble E. Young Park to take a look at the renovation progress. We are so excited for these projects to be completed!

The board introduced two new members: Jammeshia Burgess and Conner Fisher. Lesa Walker was also thanked for her six consecutive years of service to the board and received an award.
