Winter water shut off at all Parks begins

Beginning Dec. 30, the Tyler Parks and Rec Department turned off the water in all drinking fountains at Tyler area parks and trails for the winter season. Winterizing helps protect from damage during freezing temperatures and prevents unnecessary repair and labor costs. Restrooms will also be closed when we have freezing temperatures, but will be turned back on as the weather improves.

Ice Bowl 2022 lives up to its name this year

Participants braved the near freezing temperatures and 30+ mph winds to play disc golf and raise money for the East Texas Food Bank and the Tyler Parks and Rec Dept.

A record 625 lbs. of food was donated and more than $2,000 was raised for the East Texas Food Bank with each dollar providing eight meals for a total of 16,000 meals.

Glass Rec classes cancelled due to COVID-19

All classes at the Glass Rec Center have been cancelled until further notice for your safety and due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in Tyler and East Texas. We will continue to evaluate the situation daily and we hope to begin classes again soon. All events are subject to cancellation or rescheduling.

Parks Improvement Project Updates

Northside R/C Airpark is now wheelchair accessible!

We recently completed pouring the concrete for the brand new ADA sidewalk and parking spaces at Northside Park R/C Airpark and will be completing the striping soon!

We are so excited to be able to make this space more accessible to our local model airplane enthusiasts. Come check it out at 2301 W NW Loop 323.

Walls are going up on the new Conference Center

On Jan.5, the walls of what will be the new Rose Complex Conference Center began going up. The project's first phase which includes a new parking lot and the conference center is set to be complete by October 2022. Watch a live video feed of construction.
