Every year Keep Tyler Beautiful partners with the Solid Waste Department to help residents recycle their undecorated, non-flocked natural Christmas trees. The program begins the day after Christmas and ends mid January. You can drop-off your Christmas Trees in the marked locations at Golden Road Park and Fun Forest Park.
The trees at the parks are available for area fisherman to pick up and sink in nearby lakes to create fish habitats. For more information, contact us at (903) 531-1335 or e-mail us at KTyB@TylerTexas.com.

The Tyler Parks and Recreation Department is inviting players of all skill levels to fling a disc for the East Texas Food Bank during the 17th Annual Ice Bowl Disc Golf Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 15. The event will be held at Lindsey Park located at 12557 Spur 364 W.
“No wimps, no whiners, will play no matter what,” so rain, shine or snow – the tournament will continue regardless of the weather (pending road conditions.)
Proceeds will benefit the East Texas Food Bank and Tyler Parks and Recreation for this event. Over the last 16 years, the Tyler Ice Bowl has raised funds for 145,686 meals which doesn’t include the meals provided through the food donated. Canned food items will be collected at the event. We are going for 600 pounds again this year!
For more information, register to play or to sponsor this event, please call (903) 531-1214 or go online to TylerParksandRec.com.
Sponsors are needed to make this year, the best year ever!
