Explore its transformation from a literal buffalo crossing to the charming destination you see today through the Smithsonian's traveling exhibit, "Crossroads: Change in Rural America," on display from March 15 to April 27. The Smithsonian exhibit examines the evolution of rural America, highlighting how community, identity, and development have changed over the past century.

March 12-16: Goliad County Fair and PRCA Rodeo, Goliad
Enjoy pro rodeo action in conjunction with the Goliad County Fair. See brave athletes compete in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and mutton bustin’. In previous years, the fair has included a parade, carnival, barbecue, and dancing.

March 15: Smithsonian in the Gap, Buffalo Gap
As we approach Buffalo Gap’s 150th anniversary in 2025, they have been chosen to host the Smithsonian Institute’s Crossroads: Change in Rural America exhibit. Buffalo Gap experienced explosive growth in its early days, followed by quieter periods, yet through it all, our community has preserved what makes this town so special.

March 20-22: Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo, Nacogdoches
The annual Pro Rodeo presented by the Nacogdoches Expo Center features national talent acts, mutton bustin’, livestock shows, and performances.

March 22: King Ranch - How to Recognize a Champion Horse, Kingsville
Hear James Clement, a sixth-generation member of the King Ranch family, rancher, and former Horse Division manager. This event is free with RSVP.

March 29: West Texas Historic Site Fair, Midland
The Bush Family Home State Historic Site, five Texas Historical Commission historic sites and three heritage trails located in West Texas will be at the West Ohio Street home with activities for families. There will be free tours of the Bush Family Home during the event.
