Bell Ringer

• The Bullock Museum's Texas History Timeline provides an overview of the many chapters in Texas history, and their interactive map helps you locate historical events from your area.
• This playlist of short videos highlights stories of African American history and culture from around the state.
• What happened today in Texas History? Texas Day by Day has the answer!

Homework

• The National Museum of the Pacific War has an incredible line-up of free virtual lessons about World War II and civic engagement scheduled throughout 2025.
• Looking for lesson plans that meet specific 7th grade social studies TEKS? Texas History for Teachers has you covered.
• This video from Washington-on-the-Brazos tells the story of the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence on March 2, 1836. 

Extra Credit

• Humanities Texas is hosting a series of in-person and online workshops this spring covering topics in U.S. history, government, Texas history, and English language arts.
• The Alamo is offering a variety of teacher workshops, including a Texas Revolution Road Trip and a Teacher Institute in Mexico City.
• Education in Action is seeking nominations for outstanding 3rd-8th graders to receive the Lone Star Leader Award.

Field Trip

• There is a lot happening at State Historic Sites in March! Over spring break, you can cook mole verde in San Antonio, be a guest at a wedding reenactment in San Felipe, learn all about cowboy life in the Panhandle, play old-fashioned games in Midland, build a terrarium in Paris, and more! 
• These free webinars will tell the histories of the the first African American business in Texas, the legacy of homecoming mums, and Syrian and Lebanese immigrants to Texas.
• Step back in time on the historic grounds of Presidio La Bahia to witness a reenactment of the Battle of Coleto Creek and learn about other historic sites from around the state.
