2028 Academic Accountability Rating System Refresh Timeline
As a reminder, the 2028 Academic Accountability Rating System Framework was released on March 19, 2026. The 2028 A-F system will incorporate cut points that will not increase for 5 years, until the next refresh, using a methodology consistent with statutory requirements calibrated based on baseline performance data.
To ensure the 2028 refresh uses the most recent baseline data possible, 2028 cut scores will be calculated by including 2026 results data later this year. Given the timelines involved, we anticipate that the proposed 2028 manual with cut scores will be released in Fall 2026. Adoption of the final 2028 manual and 2026 What If ratings will follow soon after, anticipated in Early 2027.
Calendar of Events Update
The Performance Reporting Calendar of Events has been updated to reflect the final dates for July. Due to technical issues, the .ics file for the Performance Reporting Calendar of Events is currently unavailable on the TEA website. We are working to restore this functionality as soon as possible. To request an .ics file, please contact us via the Performance Reporting Help Desk. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Here’s what's new in this month’s update:
- The due date for Local Accountability System (LAS) data submission was added
- The date for the Best Practices for PEIMS Extended Year Submission Webinar was updated to July 24, 2026.
Reminder: CCMR Verifier Window Closes on June 26
The CCMR Verifier window is currently open and will close on June 26. Districts should ensure all applicable non-PEIMS CCMR outcomes are reviewed, and any necessary documentation for data corrections is submitted prior to the deadline.
June 26th is also the deadline for PEIMS Working Submissions to correct prior-year PEIMS errors to be considered for 2026 CCMR accountability calculations. Schools and school systems are encouraged to initiate this process by June 12, 2026, as submissions received after this date may not be processed in time for 2026 accountability ratings if sent incomplete.
Assessment and Accountability Tools – Understanding and Leveraging Your 2026 Reports
Performance Reporting, in collaboration with Student Assessment, will host an Assessment and Accountability Tools Webinar on June 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (CT). This session will help districts and campuses understand and use newly released 2026 Student Assessment reports and prepare to review and interpret upcoming 2026 Accountability Reports.
The webinar will include an overview of key resources, including Student Assessment reports and the Research Portal, along with Performance Reporting tools. Presenters will demonstrate where to access these resources and how they can support local data review and planning. Register to attend the webinar using this Zoom link.

2026 Campus Comparison Groups
The 2026 Campus Comparison Groups will be available by June 26. These groups are used to determine Distinction Designations, with campuses earning distinctions based on top quartile performance within their comparison group, as outlined in Chapter 6 of the 2026 Accountability Manual. The Campus Comparison Groups search tool will be posted on the 2026 Accountability Rating System webpage.

College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Verifier
The College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Verifier is now available in the TEA Login (TEAL) system. Approved TEAL users can now access the CCMR Verifier by logging into TEAL and navigating to the Accountability application. The CCMR Verifier enables districts to review and verify non‑TSDS PEIMS CCMR outcomes for applicable students and, when necessary, submit official documentation to request data corrections during the annual verification window.
While CCMR indicators determined by TSDS PEIMS submissions are not eligible for corrections within the CCMR Verifier, data from the TSDS PEIMS elements are shown in the Preliminary CCMR Student Listing linked within the Verifier application and can be corrected through a PEIMS Working Submission.
All PEIMS Working Submissions must be processed, as indicated via email from TSDS PEIMS, by June 26, 2026 to be included in 2026 accountability ratings calculations. It is strongly recommended that school systems initiate the Working Submission process by June 12, 2026 to ensure inclusion in 2026 preliminary ratings. Working Submissions initiated after June 12, 2026 may not be processed in time for 2026 accountability ratings if incomplete or incorrect. Final Graduation and Dropout Rates Data Now Available
Final Graduation and Dropout Rates information, including 4-, 5-, and 6-year longitudinal graduation rates, annual dropout data, and underreported student information, are now available in the TEAL Accountability application under the Research & Analysis tab. These reports include 2024–2025 data to be used in 2026 accountability and support key accountability calculations. Districts are encouraged to review these reports to better understand graduation outcomes and results reflected in accountability ratings.
 2024 Annual Graduates CCMR Outcomes Bonus Counts
The College, Career, or Military Readiness Outcomes Bonus (CCMR OB) report and student listing for the Class of 2024 graduates is now available on the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application. is also on the Performance Reporting Resources webpage in the CCMR Resources section. CCMR Outcomes Bonuses are paid annually for the accomplishments of graduates above a certain percentage threshold across three specific student groups: economically disadvantaged, non-economically disadvantaged, and students served in special education programs. CCMR OB is a financial incentive for districts based on student outcomes in readiness, while CCMR for Academic Accountability refers to the evaluation of school performance based on students' readiness for postsecondary success within state accountability. Requirements for credit in the CCMR component of the academic accountability system versus CCMR Outcomes Bonuses can be found using the CCMR in Accountability vs Outcomes Bonus resource posted on the Performance Reporting Resources webpage. 2025–2026 Consolidated Accountability File Format Now Available
The 2025–2026 Consolidated Accountability File Format document is now available, providing the format for the Consolidated Accountability File (CAF). The CAF combines STAAR, STAAR Alternate 2, STAAR Spanish, and TELPAS data into a single student-level record across the current and prior accountability year. In 2026, the CAF will be shared with districts in .csv format, rather than a .txt format. This enhancement is a result of stakeholder feedback to increase usability and better support schools and school systems in their data usage.
What’s new for 2026:
- The CAF will be delivered in a .csv format, with an updated layout.
- A new Parental Permission field has been added.
- Updates have been made throughout the file structure and field definitions.
Districts should review the CAF layout document to understand the updated fields and overall structure and confirm that local data systems capture all required elements, including the new Parental Permission field. Additionally, districts should prepare to work with .csv files for data validation and analysis to support a smooth transition when CAF files are released later this summer.
