Texas Accountability Advisory Group (TAAG) Nominations
The Texas Education Agency is accepting nominations for new members for the Texas Accountability Group (TAAG) beginning in the 2026-27 school year. In alignment with Texas Education Code §39.002, TAAG is comprised of representatives from school districts, legislative offices, and the business community. At this time, Performance Reporting is seeking new members who represent school districts.
The committee is charged with making accountability recommendations to the Commissioner of Education by identifying broader potential improvements to the academic accountability system, bringing creative solutions and best practices to the group for discussion, and assessing the impact of legislation and stakeholder feedback on the academic accountability system. TAAG generally meets once a month, and its members are appointed by the commissioner, serving terms of three to five years.
TAAG members serve as critical advisors in the accountability system development process. TAAG members must demonstrate each of the following:
-
Expertise in education: Committee members should possess a deep understanding of educational principles, practices, and policies relevant to the A-F accountability system.
-
Knowledge of assessment and evaluation: Committee members should be familiar with assessment methods, data analysis, and evaluation techniques.
-
Impartiality and fairness: Committee members should demonstrate objectivity and impartiality in their decision-making process, avoiding conflicts of interest.
-
Broad understanding of the entire system: Committee members should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and insight that span multiple areas, ensuring their contributions reflect the overall goals and intent for all Texas public schools.
-
Communication skills: Committee members should possess strong communication skills that are necessary for effectively articulating decisions, explaining rationales, and facilitating discussions among panel members, as well as Texas educators and additional stakeholders.
The nomination window will be open from May 1, 2026 to May 29, 2026. If you know someone who brings thoughtful insight, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to improving educational outcomes, consider nominating them.
You may submit a nomination using the 2026-2027 TAAG Nomination Form. For more info on TAAG, please review the TAAG Charter.
Assessment and Accountability Tools – Understanding and Leveraging Your 2026 Reports
Performance Reporting, in collaboration with Student Assessment, will host an Assessment and Accountability Tools Webinar on June 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (CT). This session will help districts and campuses understand and use newly released 2026 Student Assessment reports and prepare to review and interpret upcoming 2026 Accountability Reports.
The webinar will include an overview of key resources, including Student Assessment reports and the Research Portal, along with Performance Reporting tools. Presenters will demonstrate where to access these resources and how they can support local data review and planning. Time will be reserved for questions. Register to attend the webinar using this Zoom link.
Please note: Participants must have a Zoom account to register.
College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Verifier
The College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Verifier will be available in the TEA Login (TEAL) system beginning June 4, 2026. Approved users will be able to access the CCMR Verifier by logging into TEAL and navigating to the Accountability application. The CCMR Verifier enables districts to review and verify non‑TSDS PEIMS CCMR outcomes for applicable students and, when necessary, submit official documentation to request data corrections during the annual verification window.
While CCMR indicators determined by TSDS PEIMS submissions are not eligible for corrections within the CCMR Verifier, data from the TSDS PEIMS elements are shown in the Preliminary CCMR Student Listing linked within the Verifier application and can be corrected through a PEIMS Working Submission. CCMR indicators informed by PEIMS data will be included in the CCMR Verifier in the Preliminary CCMR Student Listing. The 2025 Grad and Non-Grad tabs in the CCMR Tracker, Part I, were included to support the timely completion of Working Submissions, and indicators informed by PEIMS are an exact match to what will be in the CCMR Verifier. Districts are encouraged to leverage the CCMR Tracker, Part I, released in April 2026, to determine whether a PEIMS Working Submission is needed due to errors reflected in projected accountability data.
If the data submitted via Working Submission can be used in preliminary accountability ratings, there will be an additional request made of the superintendent or their designee to communicate the school system’s understanding of which accountability year(s), domain(s), and component(s) will be affected by the updated data submitted.
All PEIMS Working Submissions must be processed, as indicated via email from TSDS PEIMS, by June 26, 2026 to be included in 2026 accountability ratings calculations. It is strongly recommended that school systems initiate the Working Submission process by June 12, 2026 to ensure inclusion in 2026 preliminary ratings. Working Submissions initiated after June 12, 2026 may not be processed in time for 2026 accountability ratings if incomplete or incorrect. For more information on working submissions and for guidance on submitting a working submission, please reference the Working Submissions Under HB 8: Guidance Document.
To prepare for the CCMR Verifier opening, districts are encouraged to review the CCMR Verifier One Pager, which provides a high‑level overview of the purpose of the Verifier, what data is included, and key actions districts may need to take. Districts should also review the 2026 College, Career, and Military Readiness Verifier Data Requirements document, available on the Performance Reporting Resources webpage, to understand documentation expectations and indicator-specific requirements for non-PEIMS CCMR outcomes before the verification window opens.
What does a district need to do when receiving DD4 forms? Is this something that needs to be reported and submitted somewhere?
Beginning with the Class of 2025, TEA will receive military enlistment data from the Department of Defense. Districts are encouraged to continue to collect and store DD-4 forms from graduates who enlist. In early June, the CCMR Verifier will be available for districts to review and flag any students for whom they have documentation of meeting non-PEIMS CCMR indicators. A completed DD-4 form is acceptable documentation that a district can submit for a graduate who enlisted in the military if the Department of Defense data did not include this student.
Detailed information about the CCMR Verifier and the process to submit acceptable documentation for the Class of 2025 will be forthcoming in a TAA once the verifier is available in TEAL.
For Class of 2026 and beyond, please continue to collect and store DD-4 forms that you receive.

2026 Final List of Paired Campuses Now Available
The final list of paired campuses for 2026 is now available on the 2026 Accountability Rating System webpage. The list includes final campus pairing determinations that will be used in 2026 accountability calculations, as outlined in Chapter 7 Other Accountability System Processes of the 2026 Accountability Manual.
Districts and open‑enrollment charter schools should review the list to confirm campus pairings and understand how paired campuses will be reflected in accountability reporting. For additional information on Campus Pairing, the Campus Pairing Guide explains eligibility criteria and how campus pairing is applied in accountability. The guide is available on the Performance Reporting Resources webpage.
Updated Resource: Accountability Data Sources Guide
The Accountability Data Sources Guide has been revised based on stakeholder feedback and is now available. This document reflects the most current guidance on CCMR indicators and associated data sources.
What changed:
- Updated and clarified CCMR data source references across indicators
- Added/expanded report references to better support local data verification
- Clarified submission timing (e.g., summer vs. extended year) where applicable
Districts are encouraged to review the updated document and use this version for ongoing CCMR data validation and accountability preparation.
New Resource: 2026 Participation Rates Guide
The 2026 Participation Rates Guide is now available to support districts and campuses in understanding how student participation in state assessments impact accountability ratings. Student participation rates affect accountability outcomes under Domain 3, Closing the Gaps, with federal law requiring 95 percent participation overall and within each student group for reading and mathematics assessments. Failure to meet participation requirements may negatively impact accountability ratings.
The guide provides clear, detailed information on:
- How participation rates are calculated for accountability purposes
- The impact of student score codes on participation outcomes
- Data verification procedures districts should complete to ensure accurate accountability ratings
The 2026 Participation Rates Guide is posted on the Performance Reporting Resources webpage. Districts are encouraged to utilize this resource as a guide when reviewing and confirming participation data.
